Gionee has launched its new mobile Gionee Elife S5.5 in India on Monday  - which is the world's slimmest phone at 5.5 mm beating the previous record held by Vivo X3 at 5.75 mm. The smartphone is priced at 22,999 and company has announced the availability of smartphone in India from 27th April.


The thin metal frame body smartphone was first made appearance ahead of Mobile world congress in February and went on sale on March 18 in India.

The Gionee Elife S5.5 is a single-SIM smartphone that runs the company's Amigo UI on top of Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. It features a 5-inch Super AMOLED (1080x1920 pixels) display with a pixel density of 441ppi. The Elife S5.5 is powered by a 1.7GHz octa-core CPU coupled with 2GB of RAM.

The rear camera of smartphone include a 13-megapixel rear shooter with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calls.The smartphone has 16 GB of internal storage with no mode of extending it via SD cards. The company claims that  the 2300 mAh battery will last more than a day. The smartphone weighs 130 grams.





In decmeber company launched Elife E7 in India at 26999 Rs for the 16 GB variant which features a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080x1920) OGS (One-Glass-Solution) IPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Elife E7 is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 (2.2GHz) and is having 2GB of RAM.
