So finally the day arrived when Apple - the maker of most awaited smartphones launched its new flagship phones in the iPhone series. Speaking from the Flint Performing Arts Center in Apple's hometown of Cupertino, Calif., Apple marketing chief Philip Schiller launched its two new handsets - iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus along with the Apple Smartwatch.
The base model comes with a 4.7-inch screen and the other, dubbed the iPhone 6 Plus, has a 5.5 inch-screen. The iPhone 6 screen has over 1 million pixels, while the iPhone 6 Plus has over 2 million pixels, Schiller said, emphasizing what he called the the devices' "stunning display." Powered by the new A8 processor, iPhone 6 is up to 50% more energy efficient, so you can have higher sustained performance, claimed Apple.

Apple also launced it new wearable device, the Apple Watch, describing it as the "next chapter" in the company's history and a "breakthrough." The watch, which is available with six interchangeable bands, comes in stainless steel, aluminum or 18K gold and is priced at $349. Users navigate by tapping and swiping the face, as well as through a crown on the right side of the watch that brings up apps. Apple Watch, which works with the iPhone 5, 5c and 5s, as well as the iPhone 6, will be available early next year.
"Apple Watch is the most personal device we've ever created," Cook said. "It will redefine what people expect from a watch."

Though not the slimmest phone in the world , iPhone 6 and 6 Plus are the thinnest smartphones Apple has ever made. iPhone 5S and 5 are 7.6mm thick, but iPhone 6 and 6 Plus are even thinner at 6.8mm and 7.1mm respectively. The honour of thinnest smartphone is still with the Chinese Gionee's Elife S5.5 which has a thickness of 5.5mm.
The good news is about the new smartphone's battery which is relatively better than that of iPhone 5S. iPhone 6 will deliver 3G talk time of 14 hours and run 10 hours if the user is browsing the internet on 3G and 4G networks. The bigger model, iPhone 6 Plus, will offer 3G talk time of 24 hours and 12 hours of web browsing on 3G and 4G.
